MATTHEW FRIES, New York City, winner of the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, one of New York’s most highly estimated pianists and coming from the Memphis tradition of piano playing.
Matthew Fries and Phil Palombi have worked together for more than a decade, as members of Curtis Stigers’ trio, and of TRI-FI, their own trio together with Keith Hall.
